Statement pursuant to the Transparency Act

Folk AS is a Norwegian recruitment and staffing agency wholly owned by the company’s partners. The company is based in Bergen and provides recruitment services to all industries, primarily within the energy market. All our clients are private companies.

Folk AS is organizationally divided into Administration and Consultant departments. Under these departments are recruitment, various support functions, finance, and IT. The administration and finance report to the General Manager, who in turn reports to the board. The board consists of one board member plus the chairman. The company’s highest authority is the General Assembly.

Responsibility under the Transparency Act is anchored in the board and management, with the General Manager being ultimately responsible for ensuring compliance with the requirements of the Transparency Act.

Folk AS rents office space in Bergen. The rental agreements are well-regulated and entered into with large and reputable landlords. Janitorial services and cleaning comply with current tariff provisions on wages and working conditions.

Our business aims to operate in a sustainable and responsible manner, and we have a tradition of promoting social responsibility through our activities. We are committed to conducting business ethically and sustainably. We work continuously to ensure that the business complies with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.

In connection with our due diligence assessments, we refer to established guidelines and industry-specific guidance from the OECD and other objective sources.

Folk AS continuously works to promote fundamental human rights and decent working conditions in connection with the production of goods and the provision of services, in accordance with the Norwegian Transparency Act. Folk AS maps its suppliers and business partners as part of the company’s annual strategic risk assessment process. In addition, we conduct ongoing assessments related to risks concerning fundamental human rights, decent working conditions, and the environment and sustainability. We also expect our suppliers and partners to implement basic internal controls to minimize the risk of human rights violations and/or irresponsible working conditions. This is communicated in our Business Ethics for Folk AS suppliers, which must be accepted upon entering into an agreement.

In cases where we are unsure of how the supplier affects the environment, we require explanations and documentation. If a supplier cannot document satisfactory safeguarding of fundamental human rights and decent working conditions, it may have consequences for the contractual relationship with Folk AS. In normal cases, we will first seek to influence the supplier to minimize the risk and remedy any violations that have occurred.

Regarding potential negative impacts on fundamental human rights and decent working conditions, we have identified that the greatest risk is associated with the procurement of ICT equipment, electronics, light sources, certain types of office furniture and office supplies (including promotional and trade fair equipment), in addition to chemical cleaning agents. The completed due diligence assessment supports this, except for the cleaning agents. To minimize any negative impact, Folk AS seeks to repair and reuse as far as possible. Furthermore, we closely monitor our suppliers and require documentation as mentioned above.

Based on our due diligence assessments, the business generally involves limited risk of negative consequences for fundamental human rights and decent working conditions. Competent, satisfied, and engaged employees are our most important resources. Folk AS focuses on having a good and inclusive working environment. We offer competitive conditions in all job categories and facilitate a healthy and sustainable work-life balance.

In 2024, we did not discover any incidents of human rights violations or decent working conditions, either in our own business or with our suppliers. The priority in 2025 is to continue working systematically to further develop our internal routines and working methods, for increased control and early detection of potential violations of fundamental human rights and decent working conditions.
Folk AS’s goal is that people who provide input to our business should have good lives and wages to live on.
